Dr. Norman Noel Quijano

Mayor of San Salvador

Born in Santa Ana on 1946, Norman Quijano moved to San Salvador at a very young age. He graduated as a Doctor in Dental Surgery from the University of El Salvador; andalthough he was always committed to his patients’ needs, his vocation of service led him to start a career in politics.

From 1988 to 1994, Norman Quijano worked as Manager for the Municipality of San Salvador.He was elected Member of the Salvadoran Congress from 1994 until 2009, year in which he was elected Mayor of San Salvador for the first time.

On his first mandate as Mayor, he focused on restoring financial stability, which allowed him to invest in several projects and actions beneficial to the citizens of San Salvador. This remarkable work was recognized by the electorate, who once more elected him to continue as Mayor of San Salvador in 2012.

Currently, Mayor Quijano is fully committed to his motto: “San Salvador, a City with Future”. This electoral offer aims to make of San Salvador the best capital city of Central America, by stimulating local development through innovation and the modernization of the public service.
