Manfred Neun has served as ECF President since 2005 following a successful business career. Since the launch of the World Cycling Alliance in May 2009, he became also president of this global network. As a leader in global cycling advocacy, Manfred Neun is one of the most prominent thinkers in the field of active mobility and cycling nowadays.

Since 2011 ManfredNeun contributed very innovatively to the most important global challenges based on fundamental work on sustainable mobility and ‘Cycling Economy’.

More recently he suggested mobility to be treated as a human right. The challenges of human rights, mobility, economics and social justice need to be looked at in a more coherent approach within the framework set bythe United Nations Sustainable Developing Goals.

Under his presidency, ECF/WCA has developed to become the leading voice in international cycling advocacy, Velo-city as a global annual event, and he is the key player in ECF’s global network’s ‘Scientists-for-Cycling’, the ‘Cycling-Industry-Club’ and ‘Cities-for-Cyclists’.
